Analysing Public Grievances for Ahmedabad Smart City
This project analysed public grievance data from Ahmedabad Smart City to support decision-making by the Deputy Municipal Commissioner, Department Heads, and Zone- and Ward-level officials. The city receives approximately 12,000-15,000 complaints weekly across all wards and zones, covering issues like drainage, sanitation, water supply, public lighting, and roads.
I led this project from May to December 2023, coordinating with Ahmedabad Smart City officials to understand their monitoring needs. I analysed grievance data weekly, generating reports that highlighted priority wards and services requiring immediate attention — identifying patterns like recurring drainage choking in specific wards or streetlight failures across zones. I also developed an automated dashboard on Metabase that updated visualisations as new data came in, enabling officials to track their jurisdictions in real-time.
The weekly reports and dashboard were designed to provide action-oriented insights for supervision and response prioritisation, particularly for senior officials who previously lacked visibility into ward-level patterns.
