Mapping flows of information and funds during disasters in Assam
This research documented existing flood response and management practices in Assam, one of India’s most disaster-prone states. Working in one district and its revenue circles, we mapped how information and resources flow during disasters — examining stakeholders’ roles, data collection practices, response planning, coordination mechanisms, and information-sharing protocols across administrative levels. I designed and conducted this research between April and June 2022, interviewing district officials, revenue circle officers, and NGOs while analysing policy documents and administrative records. I authored the final report, published in November 2022.
